I work at an e-waste recycling company[0]. We're so small that we don't even have a Windows domain, and our certifications and lack of Windows licensing mean that we can't sell anything with Windows. (Fine by me, I've recently had a dislike of Windows.) Because of those things, this is the first job I've had where I have the option of using Linux as a main driver. In fact, I have a mini desktop and a Microsoft Surface (of all things) that I run Linux on.

“ Although the impending demise of Windows 10 might be a factor in some decisions, Patanella reckons the driver is security”

Partly. It’s also the shittification of windows, with their ads, bloatware, spyware AI and recall.
